Wine
In central Italy the gentle hills of
Umbria on the southern side of the Umbrian
valley, only a few kilometers from Assisi,
Todi, and Spoleto, produce one of the
most valuable type of Italian wines,
the Sagrantino. Among vineyards and
olive groves the Strada del Sagrantino,
the cultural and eco-gastronomic wine
route, abounds with castles, towers,
and medieval fortresses.
